Austin Fife photograph collection, 1946-1987

Three albums with images collected or taken by folklorists Alta and Austin Fife. The first album (boxes 1 and 2) depicts a "Mormon Pilgrimage" taken by the Fifes to historical sites pertinent to the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, both in the east and Midwest as well as in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Arizona. The second album (box 3) consists of photographs of Mormon material culture such as fences and gravestones. The last album (box 4) consists of photographs of prominent folklorists and some family images. The collection is comprised of approximately 359 black-and-white and color prints, 30.5 cm. x 24.5 cm. and smaller.

The Austin and Alta Fife Fieldwork Collection is comprised of the original fieldwork (acetate discs, reel-to-reel field recordings and field notes) and slides gathered/taken by the Fife's between the 1940s and late 1970s.
